I have 2 wheelsets with Clement Del Mundos and have actually done rides on them. I use those on bikes that I would not ride in the rain (are we discussing suitability of using Silks as rain tires?) Years ago while a College Student I rode to class everyday as my bike was my only transport. I did log many rain miles and recall no tires which grew larger when wet. Not that I would have noticed in my reduced waterlogged state.Though my Army Poncho was supposed to keep the water out, I was never hospitalized for exposure.. I also used Brooks saddles exclusively and noticed no deterioration there either. I do still own my Brooks Pro (1963) that I used at that time. Today when people talk about riding in the rain I simply dont do it. Those years of rain riding were enough for me.
