I don't have photos but I've seen a lot of loosened drive side cups over the years. Most have been LH threaded British fit ones, but given the vast number more of low cost assembly Asian bikes that have been on my repair stand that's no surprise. Back in the day I/we did see many more French threaded cups that came loose. This is why I had thought Motobecane went to Swiss spec shells at one point (to get the LH drive side thread direction). Interestingly the number of Itl. threaded cups that I've seen loose is very small. Again probably due to the few low cost Itl. bikes seen here in the USA.

I always attributed the chance of cups loosening up more to the assembly torque and not the thread direction, epicyclical forces not withstanding. Andy
