List members: I got this letter from a friend tonight, it's untouched in everyway. I did with hold the author's name and I changed his wife's name, simply because I didn't ask him if I could send this to the list. He and his wife are training for a French Alps ride this summer.
Mike, Was out riding today with my friend Fred, who is 65, and a really good athlete. I decided to take the Tour of Britain, which usually is a garage queen simply because it is so beautiful and I hate the thought of it being messed up in any way, but when I do take it out do I ever enjoy riding it. It just feels right. With triple chainring, pump, front rack, water bottle cage, Brooks saddle, rear light, two front lights, and fenders it still weighs in at a little under 25 pounds, which I think is very good. So if I ride it, I have to think of the Taylors, and you, and great rides, and what a wonderful thing a good bike is. We stopped at a Peet's Coffee during the ride, sitting outside on the patio, and a young lady came up, looked at the Taylor, and said "That is as beautiful a bike as I have ever seen." She was kind of cute anyway, but when she said that, she appeared absolutely gorgeous. Sue and I are going out again tomorrow. She continues to amaze me with her progress as a cyclist. Hope your weather and your schedule allow you to get out and ride also.
