This is how I see it:
In the UK, the price of cool old parts is being driven upward by American collectors (especially on eBay), so certain savvy aficionados are scouring the coutryside and buying-up what's left. This leaves fewer bargain deals for British collectors, leaving them somewhat resentful of the American collectors, and some Brits eventually lash-out against the Americans.

My only worry is that no one is scouring northern Italy to find me a Cambio Corsa-equipped bike!
