Listies:

I know that sounded like a Fellini movie title....I'm sure many of you have noticed that many plastic things molded in Italy have a unique manufacturing date code.

(If not, it's made up of a circle with the first letter of the month (in Italian) around the edge, with the two digit year code in the center, and an arrow pointing to the month the product was made.) Flip a selle italia or san marco saddle over, and it's likely there.

Since we have so much knowledge on this list, does anyone know when this practice started? Or if other counties have done similar things? I've seen snowboard bindings, ski boots, inline skates, and other sporting goods from Italy with this code. Anyone know of other examples?
