"Eisentraut used the tops of as many as he could find to make seatpostless frames. A long seat tube going up through the seat lug to the exact height (with only the steel top part of the Campy post, brazed in place) for a specific rider to use with a specific seat. Talk about custom!"

Mark Comments: This Eistentraut custom method would seem to limit your options once you needed a new seat. That replacement would have to have the same height as the old. What if your favorite saddle went out of production and the closest available made your position 1" higher?
