Yes, couplers are a nice idea-- but-- I have both road and MTB with S&S fittings. The MTB is off-topic Ti, and my road is a vintage Trek Columbus SL frame into which I had couplers installed. Long story short, I now ship via FedEx to my destination(s) as you can no longer lock your luggage and if the guys/gals at security ever decided to make me unpack after they saw all that metal in the box, it would be a long hassle to get it all back in there properly after they undo it, and I fear I'd miss the flight.
