Hey Gang, I just purchased a 74 Raleigh Super Course frame and will soon take to restoring it. Evidently these came with either Simplex or Huret derailleurs and a Raleigh alloy crank. Would a Nouvo Record group be overkill or should I stick with original equipment? The only part I'm lacking is a seatpost for it, which I think is a 26.8. The cranks were likely Stronglight cottered steel. My 1973 was. The post should be about 26.4 (straight-gauge Imperial-diameter 531). Simplex ders.. Weinmann centerpulls, etc.
NR might be way overkill, but it's pretty decent stuff, or so I've been told....
