This is interesting data, but I offer a caution about how one interprets it. From a statistical perspective this data is suspect because the respondents are self-selecting. In such circumstances the data can be distorted in subtle, but material ways. For example, what if on average CR members who have fewer bikes are reluctant to respond because of a feeling of inferiority? And perhaps those with many bikes are proud of their collections and thus more likely to respond. The obvious result would be an artificially skewed average that is higher than the actual average ownership among CR members as a whole.

That said -- I'm proud of my collection, so I responded!
