Even though Dave M. and Bob F. can't make it, there was still interest in doing a ride next Sunday, October 17. Felix suggested we repeat the Niles ride. We'll start at the Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge, ride up the Alameda Creek trail, climb over fences as required, stop for lunch at The Nile Cafe, then head back the way we came (unless someone knows the back way that Dave took us on last time.) The total distance is about 30 miles. It is a completely flat ride, so fixies are appropriate. There is a slight chance of rain, so plan accordingly. Hey, it was time to break out those period-correct fenders anyway. Let's hope it won't be a deluge like the one that drowned our Livermore ride last time.
Let's meet at 9:30 in the parking lot of the Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge Visitor's Center: Driving Directions: From Highway 84 (at the east end of the Dumbarton Bridge), exit at Thornton Avenue. Travel south on Thornton Avenue for 0.8 miles to the Refuge entrance on the right. Turn right into the Refuge and follow Marshlands Road to the stop sign. Turn left into the parking lot.

I don't have the SV Ride email list, so pass this message along as you see fit.
See you there!
