Subject: [CR]Speaking of OMAS and Now Campy Derailleur Alloy Pivot Bolts

Listers,
Couple months back I came across a 1979 Campy SR Rear Derailleur that had Campy stamped aluminim Alloy pivot bolts. What is history of such? For some reason I thought they were an after market addition.
I knew that OMAS made some after market alloy ones, which I assumed, perhaps falsely, were more common than the Campy ones. However, in my experience I have seen about 4 different Campy SR derailleurs with the Campy alloy bolts, and only one OMAS bolt kit that contained their version of the alloy pivot bolts.
Is there a catalog number for the Campy alloy pivot bolts? Did they come "stock" that way in a box, or were they seen OEM on bikes? I have many miles on one Sr derailleur that has the larger lower alloy pivot bolt and never had any problems with it bending/performing etc. Can the same be said about the upper alloy pivot bolt? Can the same be said of the OMAS versions?
I have heard a lot of speculation that the upper one will always "pull-out" of the frame, it happened to my cousin's brother, etc., etc., but nothing in first hand based reality.
Does anybody have/ride with these alloy items? When was their manufacturing dates? Any and all help much appreciated. cheers- Dave Anderson Cut Bank MT
