Have you tried the 28t freewheel on your bike? I've been running 28t freew heels on a couple of Campy NR bikes for decades without complaint. The cag e can't wrap a lot of chain so it's important to get your chain length righ t. A narrower range chainwheel combination like 50-42 or 46-42 will help a s will adjusting chain length knowing that you'll never use the big-big, sm all-small gear combinations.
