Alistair, it may be your personal preference but the position of the rear wheel in your Ernie Clements needs amending in my humble opinion. The frame's Stallard dropouts have a forward fixed axle position which was intended for striking fork rear derailleurs such as the Cyclo "Ace" you have fitted and the Super Champion "Osgear", Nivex and Simplex types. If I am not mistaken the wheel nut appears well forward of the seat stay in the photo of your Father racing on it. Perhaps it is clearer on the original photo. It would be good to see some closeups of the lugs and seatstay cluster on this bike. Nice restoration job.
While on the subject of striking fork derailleurs , does anyone have any info on a Prior derailleur of this type because I have a control lever.
