As a die hard Gillott enthusiast I cannot sing the firms' praises high enough. I have not, however allowed myself to be blinkered as to the strengths of other builders. I think I can only speak of frames that I own personally and rate the following highly.
F.H.Grubb, Don Farrell, Ephgrave, Hobbs, Excel, Carpenter, Barnard, Mal Rees, Claud Butler.
There are many others I have not had the chance to ride or examine but it is great idea to have a book showcasing the workmanship of the builders, riders and component makers. It would also open up the mystique of cycle sport and club practise from the Golden Era to a younger generation.
I approached Dorling Kindersley about a year ago and they said that it would be of interest. I am willing to help anyone who takes it on. Lets do it!
