> It is a regal feeling to be riding along > on a _real_ 28" tyre. :-) Marcus, You have no idea how confusing this all was on my first cycling trips from New York to Quebec and Ontario. OK - so in Quebec I discovered that French 28" tires were really this thing that was also called 700c. The tires weren't interchangeable with 27" (although they looked as though they should have been) but at least the inner tubes were. Then it was on to Ontario where 28" could alos _really_ mean 28" in the same way that 27" meant 27". So after buying a 28" tube in Montreal and using it without any problem, a couple of weeks later I bought this 28" tube in Toronto, which proved to be much to large. That was during 1967 and it wasn't until the late 1970s that I finally figured out the situation. But 30 years later, I discover that for tubulars, 700mm, 27" and 28" are all the same size. Cheers, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
