Actually, I think Dale missed a great opportunity. 1984 would have been a much more poetic and literary cutoff date.

One thing about the 1983 cutoff (to tail-gate on Lou Deeter's comment) is that a review of the archives that it (now?)appears that there are absolutely TONS of bikes that were built in 1983!
