Not necessarily for me other than aesthetically. They look like they'd work fine even though they crowd the headtube and if they make dt shifters more acceptable maybe it's not a bad thing. I wouldn't like it because it looks difficult to to a double shift with one hand, or otherwise shift the left lever with the right hand, etc. (I do all my dt shifting with the right hand).
