Ken-

I'm really happy to hear this statement! These are the same kids who frequently get blasted on here for stripping down and converting road bikes to fixed gears. To me, I see it as a learning experience- a foot in the door of the world of lugs and steel. Ask almost ANY kid who stripped an old road bike a couple years back how they feel now... A) wish they had not done it B) greater respect for the craftsmanship you mentioned C)Even greater respect for classic steel road bikes and keeping them "AS-IS".

Live and learn.
