In 1967, we were young and foolish (the latter may still be true), in love, and got engaged. Beloved spouse did not get the proverbial "rock," for a couple of reasons including poverty. But she did get a lovely used ~1961 Atala, full columbus, cast lugs, etc.
It's gone, but she still has me. And her ~73 French SuperVitus "orphan," with lightweight components, and lots of memories of the Town & Country tandems, the T&C triplet, and some great rides. I think it was the Atala that she rode on our last bike camping tour, from Cleveland to Atlanta (840 mi through the Applachians). 7 months later, our son was born, already a veteran cyclist.
