Jim is probably right. We used a lot of Specialized headsets and hubs in those days. I don't think we got into King headsets until the 90s and now use almost nothing else. I did put one on a bike around 1981 though. It lasted until last year when the bearings totally froze up. Chris King replaced it! I don't think they had ever seen one that lasted that long.
