For those that don't know, aluminium extrusion dies, such as for rims, wear over the life of the die. So basically the same rim model gets heavier over the life of a given die, then gets lighter with a new die, progressively heavier etc. So rim weights vary for a given model. Not to say that some rim companies didn't generally understate weights. As did some bike companies.
